Customer Relations Representative

Location: Field-Based (New England Region) with 1 day per week in the Billerica, MA office

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Salary: Up to $62,500 annually, depending on experience

Additional Compensation: Mileage reimbursement + cell phone reimbursement


About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Relations Representative to support business growth and maintain strong client relationships across our service areas. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer satisfaction, retaining existing accounts, and procuring new business within the restaurant, food production, meat, seafood, and processing industries.

This position is highly field-based-requiring 75-90% travel to customer sites throughout the region-while spending one day each week in our Billerica, MA office for reporting, planning, and team coordination.

What You'll Do

Customer Relations & Account Management

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure service satisfaction.
  • Communicate regularly with customers to assess service quality, identify additional service needs, and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Visit customer sites-including kitchens and grease-collection areas-on a daily basis.
  • Meet with cancelled accounts to understand reasons for termination and attempt to recover service.

New Business Development

  • Solicit and secure new business across the food processing, restaurant, fish, and meat industries.
  • Promote services such as hard material collection, grease trap service, used cooking oil collection, and drain/grease trap maintenance.
  • Conduct cold calls and schedule customer meetings in target areas identified by management.

Operational Support

  • Prepare customer setup sheets and enter new customer information into the routing system as needed.
  • Provide daily activity and service reports to the Division General Manager and Procurement Operations Manager.
  • Follow up on stops with no material picked up to determine and resolve service issues.
  • Meet or communicate with City/County inspectors regarding regulations tied to our services.
  • Follow company processes and maintain professional, ethical conduct at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient business operations.

What You'll Need

Required Experience & Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in the restaurant or food industry, including established industry contacts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal-across all levels of personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-building abilities.

Travel Requirements

  • 75-90% daily travel visiting new and existing customers.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Mileage reimbursement provided.

Physical Demands

Constantly (Over 2/3 of the time)

  • Travel to customer locations and move throughout facilities including kitchens and grease-collection areas.
  • Lift or move materials and documents up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate computer, calculator, copier, and other office equipment.
  • Review documents, organize data, and verify accuracy.
  • Communicate in person, by phone, and through email with customers and coworkers.

Frequently (1/3-2/3 of the time)

  • Move throughout office areas accessing files and equipment.
  • Remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of the workday.
